As we enter Q2 2021, here is a summary where we stand in the fight against COVID-19:
Vaccinations and other efforts are slowing the pace of infections. But there are many new cases, too. Recovery is uneven. And some areas still impose lockdowns in effort to curb it.
Worldwide, the Johns Hopkins University resource dashboard reports over 2.8 million fatalities. And over 550,000 in the United States alone. It tracks other health statistics, too.

But it is also important to remember that many live with secondary ailments.
Vaccinations steadily rise. Bloomberg News manages a tracking tool for this. And it shows nearly 575 million doses were given worldwide. And over 100 million in the United States alone.

Currently, three different vaccines are available in the United States. But recipients must be at least 16 years or older. Trials are under way for teens 12-16.
The pandemic impacts education, too. Johns Hopkins University recently launched a new tool to report this data.

People need to follow key steps, even after vaccination. If you do not yet have an appointment, schedule here in advance . Or register on a wait list for doses as they become available.
