Our work to fight Covid began three years ago. Ten days after the initial outbreak in Asia, our Board voted to take action. And it was due to disease modeling that suggested it would become significant.
SARS, a predecessor of Covid, was first discovered in the region in the early 2000s. And it alarmed experts that saw it as a future threat.
We informally formed in 2017. And SARS was key agendas.
We planned to formally incorporate in summer, 2020 as a nonprofit. But that changed with the outbreak of Covid. In fact, our Board took the threat so seriously, that they voted on November 27, 2019 to take immediate action.
As a result, we are technically the first nonprofit to launch as a direct response to Covid. More, the health messages we drafted in November, 2019 were likely the first in North America.
On December 14, 2019, we raised initial funds to launch. And later in the month, in the state of Delaware.
Additionally, we submitted an application to the Internal Revenue Service, seeking nonprofit 501)c)(3) status. And although we did not request it, they processed our application through their emergency office in Ohio. And it was approved in under three business weeks. And the nonprofit status was granted on January 23, 2020. More, this was only two days after the first case was detected in the United States.
Today, we remain committed to this work.
Before the first case was ever detected in the United States, we had begun to hand out masks as a key health message.
But unfortunately, our work was brought to a halt. And we have been hit by an intense cyber and related attack that continues to this day. And a significant amount of time has been dedicated to document it. As a result, we are employing a “zero trust” strategy.
Protect yourself. And protect others. In fact, vaccines and followup booster shots are a powerful tool to achieve this.
Everyone 5 and older can now receive a booster shot that have been reformulated to target Omicron sub-variants. And they are available nationwide.
How to get Vaccinated
There are many options. And many drug stores, Walmart and others provide it. And at no cost. Here are some methods:
