Disney Characters fight COVID-19

Disney characters fight COVID-19! The Walt Disney company has released hand sanitizers that feature different characters from the Disney brand on the labels.

The characters are from many of their celebrated franchises, including Star Wars, Frozen and the classic Disney characters, too.

What a great method to get kids to use hand sanitizers as a preventative measure against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

They are for sale at a store near you. And many stores have them right at the checkout counter, point-of-purchase. Thus, you do not have to go hunting for them. They are right there!

It is a smart move on Disney’s part. They are using their celebrated brand to promote health. So what better way?

Here are some snapshots we took at at a larger grocer:

Disney has released hand sanitizers. They depict different characters from the Disney family. They are being sold at the checkout counters in stores.

The presentation is nice, too. It is displayed in a box that promotes the franchise specific to that display. So the Star Wars box contains hand sanitizer bottles that depict different characters from the movie and series.

This is the only hand sanitizer we found that is marketed toward kids. Kudos, Disney!

Hand sanitizer is an important tool to protect from the virus. Especially since we cannot always wash our hands immediately after coming in contact with surfaces.

There are findings that show the virus can survive for long periods on surfaces and the skin. And much longer than the flu.

Also, they are an important health message. Because they are characters that kids are familiar with and enjoy, they are more likely to use the product. Everyone wins.

Key Preventative Steps

It is important to take key steps to halt the virus. Practice social distancing, wearing a mask, hand washing and avoid touching the face.

And masks are key. They protect us. And they protect others, too. Masks are a powerful health message. They say “this is important.”

And now Disney has a role in this, too.

Here is our guide for parents with school-age children.
