Last year, the federal government set up the “Uninsured Covid Program.” And it covers testing, treatment, vaccination and related costs for COVID-19. And it is for those without health insurance.
We set up an easy question and answer guide on the program. Informally, it is known as the “Covid Uninsured Program.” And the good news is that it covers key services. Namely, it covers testing, treatment and vaccinations.
Further, many providers participate. And they include pharmacies, hospitals, ambulance and more. More, they bill the program directly. And the program then reimburses them.
Not all health providers participate. So ask the provider directly if they participate.
To qualify, a patient receives no coverage from another program. This includes government programs.
One key service it covers is testing. And it is paid regardless of the result.
And if you receive a positive test result, the program will also pay for your medical treatment, too.
It also covers all costs for vaccinations that may not be by other government programs.
The program is being administered by UnitedHealth Group. It is through a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration.
