U.S. Vaccinations Lag the World

Despite its status, vaccinations in the United States lag the world. Here are the numbers.

Currently, only 2/3 of Americans are fully vaccinated and about one in three has received a booster dose. These stats lag the world.

By Contrast, in Vietnam, about 80% of the population is fully vaccinated and about 48% have had at least one booster shot. Germany has one of the highest rates for both fully vaccinated and booster shots, where nearly 60% have received a booster.

By far the country with the largest vaccination rate is China, where nearly 88% of the population is fully vaccinated.

Many other countries also are outpacing the United States. In Japan, over 80% are vaccinated, in Brazil and Bangladesh about and nearly 74% of the European Union.

A few countries are about the same vaccination rate as the United States. They include Mexico at just over 62%, Indonesia, where nearly 68% of the population is vaccinated, and India, where about 63% are fully vaccinated.

Few countries have a slightly lower vaccination rate than the United States.

This data means that more needs to be done. The United States has made vaccinations incredibly accessible.
