Today, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the full approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine, for those 16 and older.
FDA approval was expected for some time.
Millions have already received it. And Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson preciously received emergency authorization use.
Moreover, the approval has important health message implications, too. And that is because it further demonstrates the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.
However, it does not mean it is better or safer than the other vaccines. Rather, they were the first to complete the approval process. But other vaccines are under review, too. And they will likely get be approval in the near future.
Vaccines are key to halting the pandemic.
